Sample Lesson Plans

In Kindergarten classrooms are bright up for 5 years old. Children can learn anything about the world through play. Subject areas aren’t separate in their minds or in the classroom. The objects in  preschool find on a nature walk, such as: feathers, rocks and leaves. It might help them figure out math concepts like big, bigger, and biggest or motivate them to visit the book corner to find out more about birds. The teachers may introduce children to basic concepts, such as: shapes, letters, and colors, but preschool is about learning much more than what a circle looks like. It is where children first develop a relationship with learning. Kindergarten offers a small class size with big opportunities, where children get the necessary tools to succeed in elementary school.

Some people are arguing that Common Core Standards are too demanding, pushing young children too far, too fast and resulting in developmentally. Others are arguing that these standards are not only attainable but a key to improving U.S. education. Common Core Standards are expectations about what children know and are able to do it. The Common Core Standards, the end of kindergarten, children can ask and answer questions about unknown words in a text. A child will be able to answer the teacher’s question. The Common Core Standards address what to teach, but they do not tell teachers how to teach. There are many different ways to help students learn to ask and answer questions about unknown words in a text. The Common Core Standards don’t specify which techniques a teacher should and shouldn’t use it. One can have standards without any large-scale, high-stakes testing, large-scale, high-stakes testing can exits. So are the Common Core Standards expectations for what kindergarten know and are able to do too high? The short answer is “Not in the hands of a teacher who knows how to address them appropriately.” The problem, of course, is that not every teacher knows this.

Younger children love the make believe of pretending to be grown up. No matter how the children to bring the real world into the classroom. Bring in a guest speaker who works in a field connected to children. They want to know about the weather and the best historical sites to visit before they go, and they learn about the country in a fun way. Choose a topic that will interest your community, such as: a collection of stories about local history or a research assignment on the prevalence of litter, graffiti, or another problem in your community. Children should have the opportunity to receive feedback from their findings.

Voki

My Voki

I am using an avatar in an online classroom because it is so cute. Honestly, it looked like me when I was in elementary school. ^^. When it comes to vastly developing virtual environment, an avatar is the graphical representation of the user or the alter ego or character. In other words, an avatar is also a face. The more unique the face is the better chance. Avatars usually take on human like appearance which ranges from photographic representation to highly styled or realistic looking characters in 2D and 3D.

How do I fell about creating a Wiki Page:
We all know about Wiki that vast storehouse of online knowledge. It is also the poster child for something inaccurate data. That means it is created by both experts and amateurs. It has the knowledge and input of literally thousand os contributors. It show someone some of the tools they can use to create a wiki. That is stritly personal and only accessible by them or a collaborative wiki you either host on their own site or someone else to open to contributions from all.

Assistive Technology for students with Autism

Autism is a developmental disability that appears in children. It usually present by the age of three. Autism affects the development of social and communication skills. It can result from certain events before or shortly after birth. These events include infection of the brain with the herpes virus and infection of the mother with the rubella virus.

Large scale problems with brain structure are also associated with Autism. These problems include hydrocephalus or water on the brain. Sometimes a tumor may be present, but this is rare. In 1998, the study was held to see if the vaccine against measles, mumps, and rubella increase the risk of having Autism. After being reviewed by both the Medical Research Council of Great Britain and the Center for Disease Control, they ruled out the possibility of these vaccines causing Autism. Researchers have found several abnormalities in the brain. They are dysfunction in the neutral structure and abnomality biochemistry.

It is important to determine which visual representation systems. It is the best understood and in what contexts. Various visual systems, such as objects, photographs, realistic, line drawing or written words. Some children may need different visual representation systems in different situations. This may be dependent upon numerous factors, such as the skill being taught, as well as the unique of Autism. A child may use real object for visual schedule, such as the object appear to give him more information as to where he is going and what is coming next, as well as to help him remain more focused during the transition. However, the same of child may use photographs or line drawing in a picture exchange in order to communicate expressively.

Autism is a lifelong. The characteristics of the disability, little or lack of speech development, avoiding social contact or awareness, and routines of behaviors are not experienced in the same degree for everyone living with Autism. The lack of a single identified cause for Autism leaves much to be discovered in the field. Theoretical cause, such as neurological and genetic. It may prove to be a link to the true cause of the disability. It has been shown that those living with Autism may be helped, not cured, and available treatments for Autism. It may allow individuals a chance to communicate with the rest of the world without becoming frustrated at the inability to communicate.

Three Great Teacher Blogs!

1. Best for Hands-on Activities

Ms. Cassidy’s Classroom Blog
The Lowdown: Canadian first-grade teacher Kathy Cassidy invites readers into the classroom to interact with students and her dynamic lessons.
Why We Love It: Besides sharing fun ideas like making fairy-tale characters out of clay, Cassidy lets us witness her students’ learning firsthand by posting lots of videos and photographs. And another bonus: We get to learn from Cassidy’s many guest speakers, too!
Why She Loves Blogging: “My favorite thing about blogging,” says Cassidy, “is that the students literally have a worldwide audience. They see themselves as writers because people can and do read and comment on their work.”

2. Best for Art Teachers

The Teaching Palette
The Lowdown: Teachers Hillary Andrlik and Theresa McGee cover useful resources, classroom management techniques, and art-worthy news.
Why We Love It: With arts programs always under threat, it’s nice to feel like there’s an online home for people who value the importance of watercolor and oil paints.
Why They Love Blogging: Both McGee and Andrlik enjoy the opportunity to connect with teachers nationally and internationally. Says McGee, “Art education has a unique set of challenges, and blogging has created an online forum to share ideas.” Adds Andrlik, “Our readers often give us new insight on a topic or provide a fresh perspective based on their unique experience.”
